This Code specifies the determination methods of main parameters of the shipyard vertical hoisting shiplift (hereinafter referred to as shiplift), the type of calculated load, safety protection devices, safety coefficients of mechanism and structure design, the design requirements of electrical control and the requirements of shiplift on natural conditions of its construction site and the general layout form of the shiplift.
This Code is applicable to the design of shiplift with the lifting load capacity not greater than 15,000t. And for the design of shiplift with the lifting load capacity greater than 15,000t may also be made reference to this Code.
