1.0.1 This specification is prepared with a view to implementing national techno-economics policies in the design and fabrication of the connection of structural steel casting for building and achieving safety and serviceability, advanced technology, economic feasibility and guaranteed quality.
1.0.2 This specification is applicable to the design and fabrication of connection of structural steel casting for industrial and civil buildings, and common structures.
1.0.3 The design principle of this specification is developed according to the current national standard "Unified Standard Reliability Design of Building Structures" (GB 50068). The connection of structural steel casting, if used in the building and structure in earthquake area, shall also meet the requirements of the current national standard "Code for Seismic Design of Buildings" (GB 50011).
1.0.4 Not only the steel grade, required mechanical property, chemical composition and other additional guarantee items of connection of structural steel casting but also the requirements regarding welding and surface quality of connection of structural steel casting shall be indicated in design documentation.
1.0.5 For the purposes of this specification, the special requirements of the connection of structural steel casting that directly bears repeated dynamic load and requires fatigue calculation are not considered.
1.0.6 The design and fabrication of connection of structural steel casting shall comply with not only this specification but also current relevant national standards. The connection of structural steel casting not covered by the application scope of this specification shall undergo special review.
