This part of FZ/T 01057 specifies a test method for identification of textile fiber: melting point method.
This part is applicable to the identification of synthetic fibers, not natural cellulose fibers, regenerated cellulose fibers and protein fibers.
Note: Because some synthetic fibers have similar melting points and some fibers have no obvious melting points, the melting point method is generally not used separately, but used for verification or determination of fiber melting points.
2 Normative references
The following documents contain provisions which, through reference in this part of FZ/T 0105, constitute provisions of this part. For dated references, subsequent amendments to (excluding corrections to), or revisions of, any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this part are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest editions apply to this part.
FZ/T 01057.1 Test method for identification of textile fibers—Part 1: General introduction
3 Principle
Under the action of high temperature, the bonding structure of synthetic fibers between macromolecules changes from solid to liquid. Through visual inspection and photoelectric detection, the melting temperature measured from the change of appearance is melting point of the fiber. The types of fibers are identified by melting points in different kinds of synthetic fibers.
