3 Principle
When the sample is irradiated by a beam of infrared light, the molecules of the sample will absorb part of the light energy and convert it into the vibrational energy and rotational energy of the molecule. The infrared absorption spectrum of the sample can be obtained by drawing the absorption value with the corresponding wave number by means of an instrument. Each characteristic absorption band in the infrared spectrum contains information of groups and chemical bonds in the sample molecule. Different materials have different infrared absorption spectrum, and the infrared absorption spectrum of the sample is compared with a known infrared absorption spectrum to identify the fiber.
