3 Principle
Ashing of the sample and dissolution of the ash in hydrochloric acid. Reduction of the trivalent iron with hydroxylammonium chloride into ferrous iron. Formation of a red complex between the ferrous iron and 1,10-phenanthroline under sub-acid conditions, and colorimetric determination of the colored complex with the iron standard solution at a wavelength of 510nm by the photometric method.
