1 Scope

3 Terms and Definitions
3.1 Infant
A person not elder than 12 months of age
3.2 Infant formula
3.2.1 Milk-based infant formula: liquid or powdery products processed through only physical method, using milk and lactoprotein products as main raw material, adding an proper amount of vitamin, mineral substance and / or other composition; it is applicable to feed normal infants, and the energy and nutritional ingredient contained shall meet the normal nutritional need of infants at the age of 0 ~ 6 months.
3.2.2 Soy-based infant formula: liquid or powdery products processed through only physical method, using soy and soybean protein products as main raw material, adding an proper amount of vitamin, mineral substance and / or other composition; it is applicable to feed normal infants, and the energy and nutritional ingredient contained shall meet the normal nutritional need of infants at the age of 0 ~ 6 months.
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 Requirements in raw materials
The raw materials used in the products shall meet the related safety criterion and / or requirements, guarantee the safety of infants, and meet the nutritional need. The substances with the hazards on infant nutrition and health must not be applied.
The raw materials and food additive used must not maintain gluten.
Hydrogenated oils must not be used.
The raw materials processed with irradiation must not be used.
4.2 Sensory requirements
It shall meet the requirements of Table 1.
