This standard specifies a method directly determining the iron and manganese in water and wastewater through flame atomic absorption method, with the operation simple, rapid and accurate.
1.2 Application scope
This standard is applicable to the determination of iron and manganese in surface water, underground water and industrial wastewater. The limits of detection of iron and manganese are 0.03mg/L and 0.01mg/L respectively, and the concentration ranges of calibration curves are 0.1~5mg/L and 0.05~3 mg/L respectively.
2 Theory
Directly suck the sample or digested sample into the flame. The compounds of iron and manganese are easy to atomize, and the absorption of the ground state atoms of iron and manganese to the characteristic radiation of its hollow-cathode lamp may be measured at 248.3nm and 279.5nm respectively. Under certain conditions, it is taken as a basis that the absorbance is proportional to the metal concentration in the sample to be determined.
3 Reagents
Unless otherwise specified, for the purpose of this standard, analytical reagents complying with the national or professional standard, deionized water or water with equivalent purity apply.
