This standard specifies the basic requirements, production safety, piping and equipment, maintenance and repair safety, on-site emergency treatment and safety management for vinyl chloride and its polymer production.
This standard is applicable to newly-built, renovated and extended units producing vinyl chloride and vinyl chloride polymer from calcium carbide and acetylene. As for departments relevant to polyvinyl chloride production, this standard shall also be used by reference.
