This standard specifies motor vehicles' door locks and retention components, including terminologies and definitions, technical requirements and test method for latch, hinge and other supporting mode.
This standard is applicable to motor vehicles' door lock of side door (including sliding door) or back door on class M1 and N1 vehicles used for passenger access.
2 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terminologies and definitions apply.
2.1 Doors
Hinged doors and sliding doors which are installed at side or back of motor vehicles and can be opened/closed for passenger access. Folding door, rolling door and improvised door with convenient installation are not included.
2.2 Door system
It includes doors, latch, striker (or stop), door hinge, combination of guide rail and sliding door component and other retention components installed at doors or surrounding of door frame. Double door system includes two doors.
2.3 Door lock
It is the mechanism for lock of door, including latch, striker (or stop), internal and external control mechanism and internal and external locking mechanism.
2.4 Door retention components
The parts and components for fixed connection of doors and vehicle body, including door hinge of hinged door and guide rail of sliding door or other supporting components.
2.5 Door hinges
Assembly of components which are connected with doors and vehicle body and able to revolve around the same axis and mutually combined.
2.6 Door hinges system
One or more hinge(s) for support of doors.
2.7 Latch
A device which keeps the doors at closed position and can be turned on (or operated) by a person.
2.8 Striker (or stop)
Components which keep the doors at a status of secondary or fully latched position by engaging with latch.
2.9 Fully latched position
The engagement position of latch and striker (or stop) under complete closure of doors.
