This standard specifies performance and installation requirements of rear views mirrors for motorcycles and mopeds.
This standard is applicable to motorcycle and moped (hereinafter referred to as motorcycle), but not applicable to partially or completely closed motorcycles.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the terms and definitions established in GB/T 5359.1 and those listed below apply.

Rear-view mirror
It is a device to provide clear rear view, excluding such complicated optical system as periscope.
3.2
Radius of curvature of the reflecting surface
r
It is the average radius of curvature of the reflecting surface, which is measured according to the specified method in Appendix A.
3.3
Principal radii of curvature at one point obtained on the reflecting surface
ri and ri′
The values of ri and ri' which are respectively measured on reflecting surface arc inside the maximum dimension of plane which is through the center of reflecting surface and parallel to the mirror, and on the arc vertical to it.

Radius of curvature at one point on the reflecting surface
