This standard specifies the terms and definitions, product classification, technical requirements, test methods, sampling, marking, packaging, transportation and storage as well as safety of automobile diesel fuels and the standard implementation.
This standard is applicable to the automobile diesel fuels which are used for vehicles with compression-ignition engines and are derived from petroleum or added with additive for improving the service performance, and it is also applicable to the diesel fuels used for agricultural machinery, internal combustion locomotives, construction machinery and generator sets which are all equipped with compression-ignition engines. It is not applicable to the automobile diesel fuels in which biodiesel fuel is added as the blending component.
