1 Scope
This part of GB 32166 specifies the classification, basic requirements and special requirements of occupational eye and face protectors.
This part is applicable to afocal protectors or components used to protect eye or face safety in occupational eye and face protection (mainly industrial protection).
This part is not applicable to:
a) sunglasses and sunglass oculars for general purpose or eye and face protectors with vision corrective effect;
b) eye and face protectors used to protect patients from exposure during diagnosis or treatment;
c) products used for directly observing the sun, such as eye protectors for observing solar eclipse, etc.;
d) eye and face protectors for sports;
e) eye and face protectors against short circuit electric arc;
f) eye and face protectors for welding;
g) eye and face protectors against laser.

4 Classification of occupational eye and face protectors
4.1 Functional types of occupational eye and face protectors
The function of occupational eye and face protectors refers to the capability of protecting against one or more of the following hazards:
——strong impacts at different degrees;
——optical radiation;
——heat and flame;
——droplets;
——splashes.
4.2 Types of occupational eye and face protectors
The occupational eye and face protectors may be divided into the following types according to their structures and patterns:
——spectacles;
——goggle;
——face-shield.
