This Standard states the requirements in principle on the performances, insulation design of the thermal insulation materials and their products, the construction and acceptance of thermal insulation engineering and the test and evaluation of the thermal insulation effect.
It is applicable to the power, spacing heating, heat supply and commonly-heat-utilizing departments.
The thermal insulation must be carried out to equipment and pipes and their accessories when one of the following behaviors is available:
a. The temperature of the external surface is higher than 323K (50℃);
b. In the production process, the parts that require the reduction of temperature fall of the media or the delay of the condensation of the media;
c. In the production process, the parts in equipment, pipes and their accessories that require no thermal insulation and the temperature of the external surface exceeds 333K (60℃) and requires frequent operating maintenance but are unable to adopt other measures to prevent the scalding.
When one of the following conditions is available, the equipment, pipes and their accessories are free of constraint from this Standard:
a. In the production process, the parts that are inadvisable to have or need no thermal insulation;
b. Temporary facilities under construction;
c. All kinds of thermodynamical instrument systems.
