Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Point Type Smoke Fire Detectors
1 Subject Content and Applicable Scope
This standard specifies technical requirements, test methods and markings for point type smoke fire detectors (hereinafter referred to as detectors).
This standard is applicable to detectors that operate using scattered light, transmitted light (photoinductive smoke) and ionization (ionized smoke), for use in fire detection and alarm systems installed in general industrial and civil buildings. For the detectors installed in other environments, or detectors working on different principles, this standard can be used for guidance, in addition to special technical requirements otherwise specified by the relevant standards.

3 Technical Requirements
3.1 When a fire occurs in the monitored area and the smoke parameter reaches the predetermined value, detectors shall output the fire alarm signal, and the alarm confirmation lamps of detectors or other displays with the same function shall be started at the same time, and the display signal shall be maintained until manual recovery.
3.2 Detectors shall be equipped with mesh fabric with a maximum mesh size of not more than 1 mm or other measures to prevent insect entry.
3.3 Detectors shall be able to withstand all tests specified in Clause 4 of this standard and shall meet all technical requirements of this standard.
4 Test Methods
4.1 General test requirements
4.1.1 The tests specified in this standard are type tests and detector tests shall be carried out in accordance with Annex A.
4.1.2 Detectors shall be visually inspected before the test. The test shall only be conducted if detectors meet the following requirements:
a. There is no corrosion, peeling and foaming of the coating layer, and no obvious scratch, burr and other mechanical damage on the surface;
b. Measures to prevent insect entry shall meet the requirements of 3.2;
c. The text symbols and signs shall be clear and the structure shall be not loose.
4.1.3 Unless otherwise specified in the relevant terms, all tests shall be carried out under the following standard atmospheric conditions for testing:
Temperature 15 to 35 °C;
Relative humidity 45% to 75%;
Air pressure 86 to 106 kPa.
4.1.4 If a test method requires a detector to be operational, then connect the detector to suitable supply and monitoring equipment having the characteristics required by the manufacturer's data.
4.1.5 Unless otherwise specified in the relevant terms, a tolerance of ± 5% shall be applied to each test parameter.
