1.0.1 This code is formulated with a view to implementing the national technical economy policy, achieving safety, credibility, state-of-the-art technology; economic feasibility and convenience of operating and maintenance in the design of shunt capacitors of electrical engineering.
1.0.2 This code is applicable to the construction and extension engineering design of three-phase alternating current high-voltage and low-voltage shunt capacitors for reactive compensation in the electric substation or power distribution station (room) with voltage grade at or under 750kV.
1.0.3 The design of shunt capacitors shall determine the compensation capacity, mode of connection, corollary equipment, protection and control mode, and arrangement and installation mode according to the requirements of electric network condition, compensation requirement, environmental condition, operating maintenance at the installation site and the practical experiences.
1.0.4 The selection of shunt capacitors shall comply with those specified in the related national current standards.
1.0.5 The design of shunt capacitors shall not only implement this code, but also shall comply with those specified in the related national current standards.
