This standard specifies the type, parameters, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, coating, packing, transportation and storage of seamless steel gas cylinder (hereinafter referred to as "cylinder").
This standard is applicable to design and manufacture movable repeatable-filling steel cylinders used to fill permanent gases or high-pressure liquefied gases with 8~30MPa nominal working pressure and 0.4-80L nominal volume. The operating environment temperature of steel cylinders is -20~60℃ in common areas while -40~60℃ in cold areas.
This standard is not applicable to steel cylinder for dissolved gas or adsorbed gas, steel cylinder used for fire extinction and auxiliary cylinder type pressure vessels on vehicle and machinery equipment.

3 Technical Terminology and Symbols
3.1 Permanent gas: refers to the gas whose critical temperature is less than -10℃;
High-pressure liquefied gas: refers to the gas whose critical temperature is larger than or equal to -10℃ and less than or equal to 70℃.
3.2 Nominal working pressure: refers to the limit filling pressure of the gas at reference temperature (20℃ generally) for the cylinder for permanent gas; refers to the upper limit of gas pressure at 60℃ for the cylinder for high-pressure liquefied gas.
3.3 Permissible pressure: refers to the maximum pressure allowed by the cylinder during filling, use, storage and transportation.
3.4 Yield stress: adopts yield point or lower yield point if sharp yield is found in the tensile test for the test portion of the materials or yield strength if no sharp yield.
3.5 Batch: refers to limiting number of cylinder, successively produced having the same design condition, nominal diameter, wall thickness, design, specified material of construction, process of manufacture, and heat treatment specification for continuous heat treatment.
3.6 Design stress factor: refers to ratio of design value of cylinder body material yield stress and cylindrical part equivalent stress under hydraulic test pressure.
3.7 Filling factor: refers to the permissible maximum filling gas weight in unit water volume of the steel cylinder specified in the standard.
3.8 Factor of stress concentration: refers to the ratio of membrane stress of cylinder body and partial maximum stress.
