The mercurial vapor has an absorption character for the ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 253.7nm. In certain concentration range, the absorption value is proportional to the mercurial vapor concentration. After digestion and reduction treatment of the samples, the combined mercury is converted to mercury element and then taken into the mercury analyzer with the carrier gas to measure the absorption value and quantify by comparing with the standard series.
