This standard specifies the maximum permissible emission concentration of smoke and dust in kiln and furnace, productive dust and harmful pollutants, and the emission limits of flue gas blackness.
This standard is applicable to the management of furnaces and kilns using solid, liquid, gaseous fuels and electric heating except coke ovens, incinerators and cement plants, as well as the environmental impact assessment, design and completion acceptance of industrial furnace and kiln construction projects and their emission control.

3 Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following definitions apply.
3.1
industrial furnace and kiln
thermal equipment for smelting, roasting, sintering, melting and heating materials or workpieces with heat generated by fuel combustion or electric energy conversion in industrial production
3.2
standard condition
condition of flue gas at the temperature of 273 K and the pressure of 101 325 Pa; all the emission concentrations specified in this standard are values in dry flue gas under standard condition.
3.3
fugitive emission
leakage of smoke, productive dust and harmful pollutants without passing through a chimney or an exhaust system
3.4
excess air coefficient
ratio of actual air demand to theoretical value during fuel combustion
3.5
aeration coefficient
ratio of the amount of air entering the furnace body from the feeding port to the theoretical air demand of cupola process
