This standard specifies two methods for determining the burning of rubber in laboratory environment, namely oxygen index method (Method A) and vertical combustion method (Method B).
This standard is applicable to the evaluation of the burning and flame retardance of rubber materials in laboratory environment, and is not applicable to the evaluation of the ignition risk of rubber materials under actual use conditions.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions given in HG/T 3095 and the following apply.
3.1
oxygen index
minimum oxygen concentration necessary for maintaining the combustion of rubber materials under the specified test conditions and in the oxygen-nitrogen mixture flow at 23℃±2℃, which is expressed by volume fraction
