1 Scope
This part specifies the methods for the determination of gold content.
This part is applicable to the determination of gold content in gold. The determination range is 99.50% ~ 99.95%.
2 Method Summary
Add adequate amount of silver into the test portion and them wrap it with lead foil and perform cupellation at 920℃ to separate the lead and impurities from the gold and silver and leave the alloy beads of gold and silver in the cupel. The beads are then made into rolls, parted by nitric acid and weighed; calibrate the result with the result of the reference material of pure gold, which has been subjected to the same procedures along with the test portion, and then calculate the gold content of the test portion.
