Fragrance/Flavor substances - Determination of relative density
1 Scope
This standard specifies a method for the determination of the relative density of fragrance/flavor substances at a given temperature.
This standard is applicable to the determination of relative density of essential oils, isolate and synthetic fragrance/flavor substances.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections), or revisions, of any of these publications do not apply to this standard. However parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
relative density
ratio of the mass of a given volume of fragrance/flavor substances at a given temperature (t℃) to the mass of an equal volume of distilled water at the same temperature
Note: This quantity is dimensionless and its symbol is d_t^t.
3.2
absolute density
ratio of the mass of a given volume of the fragrance/flavor substances at a given temperature (t℃) to the same volume
