This standard specifies the technical requirements and relevant methods of verification for symmetrical beam headlamp tester (hereinafter referred to as “headlamp tester”). This standard is applicable to the verification of the headlamp
tester used in the safety detection of motor vehicle.

3 Definition For the purposes of this standard, the following definitions are applied.
3.1 Optical Axle Angle
The included angle of vertical surface with the optic axial of upper beam coincident to the reference line.
3.2 Measurement Distance
The vertical dimension from the fiducial center of headlamp to the photic mirror plane of the headlamp tester.
3.3 Optics Centre Axle
The axis is the line that the pivot (or the optical center point specified of headlamp manufacturer) of the photic mirror plane of headlamp tester vertical to the mirror plane.
3.4 Other definitions are based on the requirements of Chapter 6 in GB/T
5337-1985 and Chapter 1 in GB 4599-1994.
4 Technical Requirements4.1 Appearance and General Requirements4.1.1
The headlamp tester shall have clear nameplate, indicating the name , the model, and the factory number of the equipment.
4.1.2 Various controls such as switch, button, socket and wiring terminal shall have explicit text or symbol marking. The symbol marking shall meet the requirements of relevant standards. The controls shall be in flexible and reliable operation, and shall not have phenomenon such as being loose or being clamped.
