1 Scope
This standard specifies the definition, measurement, designation and marking of ring-size.
This standard is applicable to the measurement and designation of ring-size.
2 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
2.1
ring-size
the inner circumference of the ring, expressed in mm
2.2
numbers of ring-size
a method of representing the ring-size with the numbers 1# to 36#, also known as finger-size
3 Measurement
3.1 Measuring tools
Ring-stick (as shown in Figure 1), shall meet the following requirements:
—— effective range: 160 mm ± 0.5 mm.
—— measuring range: 41 mm to 76 mm;
—— material: metal, or material with equivalent wear resistance.
3.2 Measuring method
Put the ring on the ring-stick (see 3.1) with the inner side of the ring tightly attached to the ring-stick upright. Take the scale value closest to the position where the inner side of the ring is closely attached as the ring-size. Round off the calculation result to single digit, in mm.
Example 1: If the scale value of the position where the inner side of the ring A is closely attached to the tapered ring-gauge is 55, the ring-size of the ring A is 55 mm;
Example 2: If the scale value of the position where the inner side of the ring B is closely attached to the tapered ring-gauge is between 54 to 55, the ring-size of the ring B is 55 mm;
