This standard specifies the requirements, inspection rules, classification and marking of shipbuilding-jib cranes (hereinafter referred to as "cranes").
This standard is applicable to the design and acceptance of single boom cranes (operating in port areas or waters with offshore wind force not greater than Beaufort Wind Scale 2) for loading and unloading goods driven by electric or hydraulic power.
It does not applicable to the design and acceptance of electromagnetic and grab cranes, offshore platform cranes, miscellaneous cranes, davit cranes and other auxiliary cranes.
