This standard specifies the common terms and their definitions for gas cylinders.
This standard is applicable to technical terminologies of basic standard gas cylinder, method standard, product standard and administrative standard for gas cylinders.
2 Basic Terms
2.1
Gas
Any substance that is completely gaseous at 0.1013MPa and 20°C or has a vapour pressure exceeding 0.3MPa at 50°C.
Note: the word “substance” encompasses pure substances as well as mixtures.
2.2
Gases filled in cylinder
Gases packaged, stored and transported in a cylinder through compression, liquification, low temperature liquification (cryogenic), dissolution and adsorption.
2.3
Critical temperature
Highest permissible temperature for gas liquefaction through pressurization above which the substance can only be at gaseous state, while compression method cannot be used singly for liquification.
