Methods of testing for water-ring vacuum pumps and compressors
1 Scope
This standard specifies the test methods, analysis and conversion of test results, performance tolerance and test reports in the factory tests for water-ring vacuum pumps and compressors (collectively referred to as pumps ).
This standard is applicable to the tests of pumps of any size with water as working fluid and ambient air as working medium.
This standard applies not only to pumps without any pipeline accessories, but also to pump assemblies connected with all or part of upstream and/or downstream pipeline accessories.
This standard can also be used as a reference when using liquids other than water as working fluid.
2 Normative references
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections), or revisions, of any of these publications do not apply to this standard. However parties to agreements based on this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest edition of the normative document applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions and those given in JB/T 7255 apply.
3.1
compressors discharged pressure
maximum discharge pressure (gauge pressure) allowed for continuous operation of the water-ring compressor, expressed as Megapascal (MPa)
3.2
driver power input
power absorbed by the pump driver, expressed as kilowatts (kW)
