This standard specifies the limit values of four sound power levels of noise emitted by the reciprocating internal combustion engines.
This standard is applicable to the reciprocating internal combustion engines as defined in GB/T 21404 (hereinafter referred to as "engines" unless otherwise specified).

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions given in GB/T 1859.1, GB/T 1859.3 and GB/T 21404 as well as the following ones apply.
