This standard specifies the material designation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and transportation, etc. of low alloy steel castings for general engineering (excluding the high temperature pressure-bearing, corrosion resistant and wear resistant material) and structural purposes.

3 Material Designation
Material designations of low alloy cast steel include 10 types and according to those specified in GB/T 5613, they may be classified into: ZGD270-480, ZGD290-510, ZGD345-570, ZGD410-620, ZGD535-720, ZGD650-830, ZGD730-910, ZGD840-1030, ZGD1030-1240 and ZGD1240-1450.
4 Technical Requirements
4.1 Chemical composition
4.1.1 The sulfur and phosphorus contents in chemical compositions of each material designation shall meet the requirements specified in Table 1. If there are requirements, chemical composition analysis for finished products may be conducted, and the analysis results for chemical composition of finished castings shall meet the requirements specified in Table 1, and deviations specified in GB/T 222 are allowed.
