1 Scope

This part of GB/T 1499 specifies the terms, definitions, brand numbers, ordering contents, dimensions, shapes, weights, allowable deviations, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, signage and quality certificates of the steel for the reinforcement of concrete (hereinafter referred to as "rebar").

This standard applies to hot-rolled straight bars and coiled round steel bars for reinforced concrete.

This standard does not apply to rebar re-rolled from finished steel.
