This standard specifies the measurements and assessments of intakes of radionuclides, internal dose assessments and methods as well as factors to be considered in uncertainty assessment.
This standard is applicable to the assessments of intakes and internal doses of occupational and public exposure radionuclides.

3 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terminologies and definitions apply.
3.1
Intake
The amount of radionuclides entering into human body by pathways of inhalation, ingestion and via wound or intact skin.
3.2
Uptake
The amount of radionuclides entering into extracellular fluid after being taken into body.
