This standard specifies the method and requirement of in-situ measurements of heat flux density to ascertain the heat loss in thermal insulation, including calibration, installation, measuring point choosing, operation and data processing of the apparatus.
This standard is applicable to in-situ evaluation of heat-insulating property in heat insulation of equipments and pipes under normal operating conditions. It is also applicable to the heat flux measurement when there is big temperature difference within the heat insulation, to reduce the influence the ambience temperature fluctuation on the measurement result.
The heat resistance of heat flow transducer and its adhesive system should be no more than 5% of that of the measured heat insulation, which is helpful for reducing its influence on the measurement result.
