This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of sealed nickel-metal hydride batteries for electric road vehicles (including electric cars, electric motorcycles, etc.) (hereinafter referred to as batteries).
This standard is applicable to sealed nickel-metal hydride batteries for electric road vehicles with rated voltage of 12V.

3 Definitions and Symbols
Besides the definitions in GB/T 2900.11, the following definitions are added in this standard.
3.1 Sealed cell
Where the battery is maintained at sealing state while working within the specified design scope but the internal pressure exceeds the predetermined value, the gas is allowed to be escaped through a resettable or non-resettable pressure-relief device.
3.2 Symbols
C3 - the rated capacity every 3 hours.
I3 - the discharge current every 3 hours, with its value equals to 1/3C3 (A).
ΔV - the voltage drop of battery dropping to V2 within specified time after reaching the maximum value V1 where charged with certain current, namely ΔV=V2-V1.
