Specification of water electrolyte system for producing hydrogen
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and designation, technical requirements, test and inspection, marking and packaging of hydrogen production systems for producing hydrogen and oxygen by water electrolysis.
This standard is applicable to stationary and mobile water electrolyte system for producing hydrogen for industrial and commercial use.
This standard is applicable to filter-press type water electrolyte devices for producing hydrogen, including alkaline water electrolysis and solid polymer electrolyte water electrolysis.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purpose of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1
normal conditioncal
gas conditions at a temperature of 0°C and a pressure of 101.3 kPa
3.2
diaphragm
membrane which divides the electrolytic cell of the water electrolyzer into a cathode area and an anode area, and separates the produced hydrogen and oxygen to prevent the hydrogen and oxygen from penetrating each other, but allows ions to migrate
3.3
lower explosive limit
minimum concentration of flammable and explosive gases, vapors or dusts in air/ oxygen to form an explosive gas mixture
