This part is applicable to various types of platinum-based (Pt-based) electrocatalysts for proton exchange membrane fuel cells.

For the purposes of this part, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 20042.1 and the following apply.
electrochemical active area
the effective active specific surface area of the catalyst determined by electrochemical method, expressed in m2/g
Note: It indicates the number of active sites for the catalyst to participate in electrochemical reactions.
