This standard specifies the principle, instruments, procedure, calculation of results and repeatability of determination of density of coking oil products.
This standard applies to the determination of the density of coking oil products.
2 Normative References
The following normative documents contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this standard. For dated references, subsequent amendments (excluding corrections) to, or revisions, of any of these publications do not apply. However, all parties coming to an agreement according to this standard are encouraged to investigate the possibility of applying the most recent editions of the normative documents indicated below. For undated references, the latest editions apply.

SH / T 0316 Oil Densitometer Technical Conditions
3 Principle
The sample is determined for density at a predetermined temperature using a predetermined densitometer. After the sample is at rest and the temperature is equilibrated, record the readings of thermometer and densitometer, then converting to a density (ρ20) at 20℃, expressed in g/cm3.
4 Instruments
4.1 Densitometer cylinder: made of transparent glass, with the inner diameter is 25mm at least larger than the external diameter (4.2); the height is set so that the densitometer floats on the sample; the bottom of the densitometer is a least 25mm apart from that of the cylinder.
4.2 Densitometer: the densitometer shall be the ones for coking products specified in Annex B or the SY-05 oil standard densitometer in SH/T 0316.
4.2.1 The ranges of three densitometers for benzene determination are as follows: 0. 850 0~0.900 0, g/cm3, scale intervals: 0.000 5 g/cm3.
