This Standard specifies the designation descriptions and detailed classifications of the automotive and off-road internal combustion engine oils (gasoline engine oils, diesel engine oils and agricultural diesel engine oils).
This Standard is not applicable to the classification of the locomotive diesel engine oils or marine diesel engine oils.
