This standard specifies the design, structure, installation, operation and maintenance requirements for safeguard devices.
This standard is applicable to:
C guard device (see Chapter 7);
C protective device (see Chapter 8);
C awareness device (see Chapter 9);
C safeguarding method (see Clause 10);
C safety operation regulation (see Chapter 11).
This standard does not cover the requirements with respect to safeguarding selection for particular purpose which are generally specified in Type C standards.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purpose of this standard, terms and definitions defined in GB/T 15706-2012 and listed below apply.

Actuating control(s)
The control that the operator uses to activate or maintain the operation or other functions of machine.
