This standard specifies the requirements for temperature measurement of heat treatment, including the requirements for classification of heat treatment equipment and instrument systems, system accuracy tests, temperature uniformity survey, temperature sensor, instruments, management and other aspects.
This standard is applicable to the heat treatment of such parts and materials with high requirement, and is not applicable to simple heating and the intermediate heat treatment during production process of materials. Other hot processing technologies may also refer to this standard.

3 Terminologies and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terminologies and definitions defined in GB/T 7232 and GB/T 13324 and the following ones apply.
3.1
Raw material furnaces for heat treatment
The equipment used for final heat treatment during the production of raw materials (like plates, bars, profiles, forgings and castings, etc.) according to the requirements of heat treatment specification.
3.2
Manufacturing part furnace for heat treatment
The equipment used for the heat treatment of workpieces (like spare parts, semifinished products, blanks or raw materials, etc.) during the manufacturing process of parts according to the requirements of heat treatment specification.
3.3
System accuracy tests; SATs
The tests carried out to determine whether the deviation of temperature measured by process instrument system meets the relevant requirements via site comparison between the temperature with reasonable compensation on the process instrument system (the system composed of control, monitoring and recording instruments, temperature sensor and compensating cables) for heat treatment equipment and the temperature of checked and deviation-corrected measuring instrument system (the system composed of test instrument, temperature sensor and compensating cable).
3.4
Maximum permitted adjustment
The maximum permitted adjustment value for the temperature reading of process instrument system to make the temperature reading of process instrument system be consistent with that of instrument system having been calibrated and tested when the accuracy of the tested process instrument system has already exceeded the permissible deviation and still requires correction during system accuracy tests.
3.5
Temperature uniformity survey; TUS
A series of detections over the temperature deviation of the working zone of furnace by using the calibrated on-site tester and temperature sensor before and after the thermostabilization of heat treatment furnace.
3.6
Heat sink
A piece of sample which can be used during temperature uniformity survey period and also is equivalent to the thinnest portion of and has similar heat transfer performance with the spare part under heat treatment.
3.7
Base metal thermocouple
