Test method about the influence of gaseous contaminants in reaction gas on the performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells—Part 2:Gaseous contaminants in hydrogen
Test method about the influence of gaseous contaminants in reaction gas on the performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells—Part 2: Gaseous contaminants in hydrogen
1 Scope
This standard specifies relevant terms and definitions, requirements of test platform and instruments, preparation before testing, test method and test report for the test method about the influence of gaseous contaminants in hydrogen, e.g. carbon monoxide (CO), on the performance of proton exchange membrane fuel cells.
This standard is applicable to proton exchange membrane fuel cell unit (hereinafter referred to as "fuel cell").
The volume fraction of gaseous contaminants in hydrogen gas to which the test method described in this standard is applicable is not less than 1 μL/L.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions and those given in GB/T 20042.1-2005 and GB/T 28816-2012 apply.
3.1
clean air
air that contains various pollutants with concentration not exceeding the annual mean Level I concentration limit as specified in 4.2 of GB 3095-2012
Note 1: The definition of clean air in this standard is given only for its use as oxidant for fuel cells.
Note 2: The clean air recommended in this standard is a compound gas with oxygen concentration of 21% and using nitrogen as balance gas.
3.2
gaseous contaminants in hydrogen gas
other gases contained in hydrogen fuel; the gaseous contaminant to which this standard is applicable is CO
3.3
fuel cell poisoning
phenomenon of fuel cell voltage attenuation caused by gaseous contaminants in reaction gas
