Part 2: Test methods
1 Scope
This part of GB 32166 specifies the test method for optical and non-optical performances of occupational eye and fact protectors.
This part is applicable to afocal protectors or components used to protect eye or face safety in industry.
This part is not applicable to the testing of prescription ocular and prescription assembled ocular.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 30042-2013 apply.
4 General
4.1 Test environment
Unless otherwise specified, all tests in this part shall be conducted in an indoor environment with a temperature of (23±5)℃ and a humidity of 30%~80%.
4.2 Test headform
The test headform shall meet the requirements on the 3D dimensions of male adult headforms specified in GB/T 23461-2009. Unless otherwise specified, in this part, the surface material of the test headform shall be polyurethane and the base material of the headform shall be metal.
4.3 Reference points (for testing)
During the test, the test shall be conducted at the design reference point indicated by the product. If the product does not indicate the design reference point, the test reference point shall be determined as follows:
a) Unassembled monocular——for single ocular covering one eye and not assembled on a frame, the test reference point shall be located at the intersection R of the horizontal centerline and the vertical centerline marked in Figure 1 (R is the center of rectangle, a is the rectangular horizontal dimension of the ocular, and b is the rectangular vertical dimension of the ocular).
b) Unassembled binocular——for single ocular covering both eyes and not assembled on a frame, the test reference point R shall be located on the horizontal centerline of the ocular and is PD/2 away from each its vertical centerline (PD is the inter-pupillary distance, and b is the ocular height, see Figure 2).
c) Assembled ocular——for assembled ocular which is assembled onto the frame or as an integral part of eye protector, the test reference point R shall be located at the intersection of the horizontal line of sight at the wearing position and the ocular (see Figure 3).
