This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, testing equipment, inspection methods and inspection rules of upholstered furniture mattress.
This standard is applicable to mattress as well as mattress and foundation used in various places.
This standard is not applicable to water bed and air bed without insulator between inlet material and mattress core.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

insulator
gasket material between shell fabric and elastic material or other core material, including foam plastic, plastic net, fiber felt (cloth), palm fiber pad, chemical fiber (cotton) felt, shredded coconut pad and the like
3.2
mattress
upholstered bedding that is made of elastic material, shell fabric or elastic material, insulator and shell fabric and can be used alone or together with other products
Note: There are mattress for adult, teenager or infant; bunk bed mattress; futon; mattress for sofa or sofa bed on which you can lie down to sleep directly or by adjusting backrest or handrail; movable sofa bed mattress; corner combination mattress; daybed mattress; folding bed mattress; pulldown bed mattress; mother and child mattress and the like.
