Methods for chemical analysis of zinc oxide produced by direct process -
Part 3: Determination of copper oxide content - Flame atomic absorption spectrometry method
1 Scope
This part of GB/T 4372 specifies the methods for determining the copper oxide content of zinc oxide produced by direct process.
This part is applicable to the determination of copper oxide content of zinc oxide produced by direct process, with the copper oxide determination range of 0.0005%~0.020%.
2 Method summary
Dissolve the specimen with nitric acid, apply air-acetylene flame in dilute nitric acid medium, and measure the absorbance of copper at the wavelength of 324.8 nm of the atomic absorption spectrophotometer, and then calculate the copper oxide and cadmium oxide contents by the standard curve method.
3 Reagents
Unless otherwise specified, only the reagents recognized of analytical quality and distilled water or deionized water or water with equivalent purity shall be used during the analysis.
3.1 Nitric acid (ρ=1.42g/mL).
3.2 Nitric acid (1+1).
3.3 Copper standard stock solution: weigh 0.1000g of pure copper (ωCu≥99.99%) into a 300mL beaker, add 10mL of nitric acid (3.1) and dissolve it at a low temperature, boil it to remove the nitrogen oxides, cool and transfer it into a 1,000mL volumetric flask, add 40mL of nitric acid (3.1), dilute to the scale with water and mix well. This solution has an copper content of 100μg/mL.
