1 General Provisions
1.0.1 This standard is developed with a view to adapting China's population aging trend, as well as making the newly-built residential buildings for the aged not only meeting the applicable, safe, healthy, economic and environmental protection requirements, but also meeting the physical and mental requirements for the aged.
1.0.2 Residential building design for the aged shall adapt China's service mode requirements for the aged, reflect the adaptability to the health status and self-servicing abilities of the aged under the principle of convenient usage, as well as have the foresight on gradually improving the residential quality and nursing level for the aged.
1.0.3 This standard is applicable to the residential buildings specially designed for the aged, including the design of relevant building facilities such as house for the aged, apartment for the aged, rest home, nursing home and nursery for the aged. Latent design may be carried out for the newly-built ordinary houses by reference to this standard, so as to be in favor of renovation.
1.0.4 Not only the requirements stipulated in this standard, but also those in the current relevant ones of the nation shall be complied with during the design of the residential building for the aged.
