GB/T 5293-2018 Solid wire electrodes, tubular cored electrodes and electrode/flux combinations for submerged arc welding of non alloy and fine grain steels
This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, re-inspection and technical conditions of supply of solid wire electrodes, tubular cored electrodes electrodes and electrode/flux combinations for submerged arc welding of non-alloy and fine grain steels.
This standard is applicable to the classification of solid wire electrodes, and electrode/flux combinations for submerged arc welding of non-alloy and fine grain steels with a minimum tensile strength of up to 570 MPa.

3 Classification
3.1 Classification of solid wire electrode
The solid wire electrode shall be classified in accordance with its chemical composition. The letter "SU" indicates the submerged arc welding solid wire electrode, and the combination of numbers or numbers and letters after "SU" indicates the classification of chemical composition. See Annex A for a comparison of symbols/designations between different standards for solid wire electrode.
The examples of symbols of solid wire electrodes in this standard are as follows:
