This standard specifies the classification and labeling, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage of marine forged steel male thread stop valves (hereafter referred to as stop valves).
This standard is applicable to the design, manufacturing and acceptance of stop valve for marine pipeline system.

3 Classification and Labeling
3.1 Type
Stop valves are classified into the following two types:
Type A - through-type stop valve;
Type B - perpendicular-type stop valve.
