For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 18259-2009 and the following apply. For the convenience of application, some terms and definitions in GB/T 18259-2009 are listed as follows.

high-pressure decorative laminates - sheet made from thermo-setting resins; HPL
a kind of decorative material formed with a surface paper impregnated with amino resin (mainly melamine resin), a decorative paper and a base paper impregnated with phenolic resin which are laminated and then hot pressed under high pressure, referred to as high-pressure decorative laminates (HPL)
