3 Principle
The surface of colourless optical glass will produce metamorphic layers such as "white spot" or "blushing" after being eroded by the atmosphere. The degree of erosion on the glass surface is determined by calculating the difference between turbidities of the sample under test before and after erosion measured using a turbidimeter with integrating sphere.
