Steel Wire Ropes — Determination of Measured Breaking Force
1 Scope
This standard specifies terms and definitions, test principle, sample preparation, test equipment, test procedure and test report for the determination of measured breaking force of steel wire ropes.
This standard is applicable to the determination of measured breaking force of different kinds of steel wire rope products. The method of alloy poured socketing is applicable to steel wire ropes of diameter greater than or equal 6mm, or of wire rope diameter greater than or equal 0.5mm; the method of resin pouring and method of ferrule pressing are applicable to all kinds of steel wire ropes; the method of directly gripping is applicable to steel wire ropes in single-strand and other structures; the method of wrapping is applicable to steel wire ropes of diameter not greater than 20mm.
