This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and designation, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packing, storage and transportation for gypsum plasterboard.
This standard is applicable to gypsum plasterboard intended to be used as non-bearing internal partition wall and suspended ceiling in buildings, as well as to base board for gypsum plasterboard finishes subjected to secondary finish processing.

3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the following terms and definitions apply.

Paper covered longitudinal sides

Cut sides transverse to the edges

Face
The surface on which the paper extends continuously to cover the edges

The surface having a double thickness of paper along the two edges
