This standard specifies the classification and marking, requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marking, packaging and storage of acid and alkali resistant rubber compounds for seals.
This standard is applicable to ordinary rubber compounds for seals which are resistant to sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.
Note: these compounds may be used for the sealing elements of the joints of pipeline transmitting acid and alkali, for the sealing gaskets used for the vessels storing acid and alkali and for the auxiliaries, etc.
